Apple could copy Android phones by bringing vapour cooling chamber to iPhone 17 Pro.

Recent leaks have shed light on the much-anticipated iPhone 17 series, which is expected to launch in September 2025. One of the most significant upgrades is the shift to vapour cooling chambers across the entire range, replacing the traditional heat sinks Apple has used for years. This change is expected to bring the iPhone in line with Android devices, which have been using vapour chambers for more efficient heat management.




In addition to the cooling system overhaul, the iPhone 17 series is likely to include several other notable improvements. The series is rumored to introduce a new model, the iPhone 17 Air, adding an extra layer of variety to the lineup. While the iPhone 16 series saw some incremental updates, the iPhone 17 promises to bring


more substantial redesign. Initially, vapour cooling was believed to be exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but leaks now suggest that all models, including the base variants, will benefit from this advanced cooling technology. Vapour cooling chambers work by containing a small amount of liquid, such as de-ionized water, inside a metal chamber. When the phone's chipset generates heat, the liquid evaporates and spreads throughout the chamber, helping to dissipate the heat more efficiently. This process prevents the device from overheating, ensuring smoother performance. Vapour cooling has long been a feature in Android smartphones, and its inclusion in the iPhone 17 series will mark a significant improvement in Apple's approach to managing thermal performance.
