OnePlus Open 2 design leak world's thinnest foldable smartphone.

The OnePlus Open 2, set to launch internationally as a rebranded version of the Oppo Find N5, is generating significant buzz due to its potential to become the thinnest foldable smartphone in the world. Leaks suggest that the OnePlus Open 2 could measure just around 4mm in its unfolded state, surpassing the current record-holder, the Honor Magic V3, which is 4.35mm when unfolded.

In Short:
  • The OnePlus Open 2 could break records as the thinnest foldable smartphone.
  • This model is expected to be a global release of the Oppo Find N5, with a minimal crease on its foldable display.
  • Leaks indicate a sleek design with a circular camera module and a titanium frame for added durability.

The OnePlus Open 2’s sleek design is poised to make it a standout device. According to Oppo's Senior Vice President Liu Zuohu, the Find N5 (and by extension, the OnePlus Open 2) is set to be the world’s thinnest foldable. For comparison, the Honor Magic V3 measures 4.35mm when unfolded and 9.2mm when folded. The upcoming OnePlus Open 2 could even be slimmer at just 4mm unfolded.
The phone’s camera setup is expected to feature a circular module positioned at the center, similar to the Oppo Find X8 Pro and the original OnePlus Open. It will include a periscope telephoto lens, Hasselblad branding, and a flash in the lower right corner. Leaks also point to a minimal crease on the foldable display, contributing to its premium feel.
Another notable feature could be the use of a titanium frame, making the phone both lightweight and durable—a welcome improvement given the fragility often associated with foldables. On the hardware front, the OnePlus Open 2 is expected to boast a triple-lens Hasselblad camera, satellite communication support, a 6,000mAh battery with wireless charging, and the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. It may come in colors like black and white, with possibly more finishes available. The inner display is rumored to have a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera in the top right corner, maintaining a modern, streamlined look.
While the Chinese release is slated for February, the international launch of the OnePlus Open 2 will likely follow soon after, giving it an early edge over competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is expected to launch later in the summer.
